Box Scores, Recaps and Highlights
Quarterfinal #1: No. 2 Vermont 61, No. 7 New Hampshire 42
- Box/Recap/Highlights
- Top Performer
- Candon Rusin (UVM): 14 points (6-10 FG, 1-3 3FG, 1-3 FT)
- Big Stat
- The difference in this game is pretty simple. New Hampshire shot the ball well in the first half, Vermont shot the ball even better in the second half. On the heels of a 27-3 second half run, the Catamounts put the Wildcats, who shot 17.4 percent over the final 20 minutes, away for good. Rusin contributions off the bench really sparked Vermont.
- Supporting Cast
- Sandro Carissimio had 10 points for Vermont and Brian Voelkel's passing ability (4 assists) was key for Vermont as always. Ferg Myrick led the Wildcats with 15 points while Patrick Konan also chipped in 12.

Quarterfinal #2: No. 6 UMBC 69, No. 3 Hartford 62
- Box/Recap/Highlights
- Top Performer
- Ryan Cook (UMBC): 24 points (8-13 FG, 2-3 3FG, 6-8 FT), 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal
- Big Stat
- UMBC shot...wait for it...78.9 (!!!) percent in the second half of its upset against Hartford. Even though the Hawks went into the half up two, how do you overcome your opponent make 78.9 percent of its shots? When Mark Nwakamma fouled out of the game with 6:02 left, the hill got even more steep for the Hawks.
- Supporting Cast
- UMBC senior Brian Neller played like a veteran in this one, finishing with 20 points and nailing a handful of tough (real tough) three-pointers. For Hartford, Nate Sikma led the way with 17 points while Nwakamma had 13 before fouling out.

Quarterfinal #3: No. 1 Stony Brook 72, No. 8 Binghamton 49
- Box/Recap/Highlights
- Top Performer
- Anthony Jackson (SBU): 16 points (6-9 FG, 1-3 3FG, 3-3 FT), 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals
- Big Stat
- Stony Brook was in control of this one from the get-go. And although Binghamton played better in the second half, the Seawolves 37-14 advantage at halftime was far too much to overcome. In that first half, Binghamton was held without a three-point make in eight attempts and shot 30.4 percent overall.
- Supporting Cast
- Scott King (13 pts), Jameel Warney (12 pts, 9 reb) and Dave Coley (11 pts, 7 reb) all had big games in the Stony Brook win. For Binghamton, it was all about Jordan Reed and Jimmy Gray, who had 16 points and 11 points, respectively. The pair also hooked up for an alley-oop off a beautiful lob pass from Gray in what would be their final game together. Taylor Johnston also had 13 for the Bearcats.

Quarterfinal #4: No. 4 Albany 50, No. 5 Maine 49
- Box/Recap/Highlights
- Top Performer
- Sam Rowley (Alb): 19 points (7-14 FG, 5-8 FT), 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal
- Big Stat
- After a great first half and holding a lead for most of the second half, Maine was held to just one field goal in the final 9:43 of the game. Albany never really got its offense going, but just kept chipping away as its defense got stops. More importantly, they just threw it inside to the big man (Rowley) and basically put the game in his hands. Clearly, he delivered.
- Supporting Cast
- Jacob Iati had 11 points for Albany to help lead the way. For Maine, Justin Edwards tallied 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 assists and 2 blocks as he was all over the court. Xavier Pollard also had 13 points.

Semifinal #1: No. 2 Vermont 85, No. 6 UMBC 72
- Box/Recap/Highlights
- Top Performer
- Ryan Cook (UMBC): 20 points (7-12 FG, 2-3 3FG, 4-4 FT), 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal
- Big Stat
- As hot as UMBC came out of the gates, Vermont was with them step for step the entire way. In fact, Vermont quietly shot the ball even better than the Retrievers did, which would have been hard to believe if you watched Cook make ridiculous shots in the first half. The Catamounts finished the game having shot 52.8 percent from the floor, 50 percent from deep and 84.6 percent from the free throw line.
- Supporting Cast
- Ethan O'Day got into foul trouble, but he still had 16 points, most coming off of perfectly executed passes from Brian Voelkel (7 ast). Luke Apfeld (16 pts) and Clancy Rugg (11 pts) also chipped in. For UMBC, Chase Plummer and Joey Getz both had 13 points while Brian Neller netted 11.

Semifinal #2: No. 4 Albany 61, No. 1 Stony Brook 59
- Box/Recap/Highlights
- Top Performer
- Mike Black (Alb): 16 points (5-9 FG, 4-6 3FG, 2-3 FT), 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal
- Big Stat
- When it came down to their season on the line, a pair of Albany seniors stepped up and did what they had to do. Black and Jacob Iati combined for 30 of Albany's 61 points and Black of course got to the rim for the game-winning layup with 2.4 seconds to go. Iati's mere presence in the corner opened up the driving lane that won Albany the game.
- Supporting Cast
- The aforementioned Iati had 14 points while Sam Rowley had 11 big rebounds. Stony Brook was led by a sensational performance from freshman Carson Puriefoy. The guard fearlessly hit two threes at the end of the game to help the Seawolves tie the game up and have a chance to win. Dave Coley (15 pts) and Jameel Warney (10 pts) also chipped in.
