Daily Word: Weekend Preview

It's about that time again. We're almost to the point where you can't say it's early anymore. Almost. As usual, we've got a full slate of non-conference action this weekend. Check down below for the complete schedule as well as some interesting stats and facts about your favorite team.

Fast Break

  • Mike Black has gone over 20 points four times for Albany, which has a four-game win streak going.
  • Jordan Reed has been the leader scorer for Binghamton in each of the seven games he's played.
  • Boston U. has won two straight, scoring exactly 74 points in both games.
  • Hartford is giving up 61.2 ppg to its opponents. When holding the opposition under 60 points, the Hawks are 3-0.
  • Justin Edwards is averaging 20.4 points for Maine over his last five games.
  • Brett Roseboro had 14 points against George Mason and was the first non-Chase Plummer or Ryan Cook player to lead UMBC in scoring this year.
  • New Hampshire's Chris Pelcher leads the conference with two blocks per game.
  • Stony Brook is 3-1 when Tommy Brenton leads the team in rebounding.
  • In Vermont's last five games, it has had five different leading scorers. Luke Apfeld is the only Catamount to lead the team in scoring more than once on the year.

Fast Break

  • During Albany's four-game win streak, Megan Craig has averaged 16.5 points.
  • Binghamton is still looking for its first win, but played UNLV very tough last time out, falling 58-56
  • In it's six wins this year, Boston U. is only giving up 48.33 points per game.
  • Hartford has had six different leading scorers this year and five different leading rebounders.
  • Liz Wood has lead Maine in both scoring and rebounding the last two games, notching a double-double against Florida Gulf Coast.
  • UMBC's leading scorer, Lauren Chase, has not missed a three-point attempt yet this year -- she is a perfect five for five.
  • After its first three victories came by an average of four points, New Hampshire busted out against Dartmouth, winning by 16.
  • Stony Brook is a perfect 4-0 when it gives up fewer than 50 points.
  • Vermont freshman Gracia Houston is third in the conference with 1.4 blocked shots per game.

Danielle Etrasco of Boston U. has been named to the U.S. Women's Lacrosse National Training Team roster.

The Albany men's lacrosse team does tug of war to stay in shape during the offseason. Check out the video.

One more bit of lacrosse news, Stony Brook women's coach Joe Spallina will speak at the U.S. Lacrosse Convention.

Two America East schools were named in College Media Matter's list of the top 50 journalism schools in the country.
