Vermont Records Fifth Straight Win

Behind the play of freshman attack Sydney Mas, the University of Vermont women's lacrosse team earned its fifth straight victory with a 10-9 win over Holy Cross. The five straight wins matches the longest streak in program history.

Binghamton Honors Erik van Ingen

Binghamton senior Erik van Ingen reached a huge milestone in his career when he earned First-Team All-American status at the recently completed 2011 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship. Here is some footage from a ceremony honoring van Ingen.

Stony Brook Baseball Moves Into Mid-Major Top 25

Stony Brook has seen its tremendous start to the 2011 season begin to receive some national recognition, as the Seawolves moved into the College Baseball Daily Mid-Major Top 25. With a 13-5 record, the Seawolves are off to their best start since the 2000 season.

Stony Brook has won 11 of its past 12 games and is led by a strong group of pitchers, including All-American Nick Tropeano. AExtra wants to congratulate the Seawolves on this great accomplishment and hopefully they will continue their great play this upcoming weekend against NJIT.

Vermont Women Open America East Play with Victory

The Vermont women's lacrosse team delivered an impressive performance in its America East opener, as the Catamounts rolled to the 15-7 victory over Stony Brook. Freshman attack Sydney Mas continued the torrid start to her career, netting three goals in the win:

UMBC Men's Lacrosse overcomes four goal deficit to defeat Quinnipiac 9-7

UMBC junior goalkeeper Brian McCullough (Garden City, N.Y.) returned to the UMBC nets and made 13 saves, leading the Retrievers to a 9-7 victory over Quinnipiac in a non-conference match-up at UMBC Stadium. UMBC was led offensively by sophomore attackman Scott Jones (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) who scored a pair of goals and added an assist. Sophomore midfielder Scott Hopmann (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary’s) added two goals, while junior attackman Rob Grimm (Black River, N.Y.) chipped in with three assists. UMBC Women's Lacrosse holds on, 10-8, for first ever victory against New Hampshire

Three Retrievers notched hat tricks as the UMBC women’s lacrosse team (7-3, 1-0 America East) defeated New Hampshire (5-4, 0-1 America East) by a score of 10-8 Saturday afternoon at UMBC Stadium in the America East Conference opener for both teams. The win was UMBC’s first-ever against New Hampshire, as the Wildcats had won all nine previous meetings. Here are highlights and post-game comments.
